About Elaine Iagatta
Elaine Iagatta lives in Belmont, MA just outside of Boston, but grew up in Walpole, MA. She’s an author, award-winning fine artist, lifelong Farm-to-Table chef, and baker. She wrote the original manuscript I WAS THE SHY ONE that is her Great Aunt Ada Angus’ memoir as told to her. And she is the creator of Magnet For Mayhem Productions, LLC. Most days she is well entertained by her huge Maine Coon cat Rocco as well as her brood of Italian Greyhounds: Romeo, Cesar, Rebel, Turbo, and Sal. Elaine’s family tree is predominantly Italian with one branch hailing from Scotland.
As a chef and baker, Elaine found this to be a heartbreaking but dazzling recovered artifact from 13,000 feet below on the floor of the Atlantic. The RMS Titanic’s third baker, William E. Hine’s name was embroidered on the brim of his baker’s toque. It was sold one hundred years after the sinking (almost to the day) at the April, 2012 Guernsey’s Auctioneers & Brokers auction in New York.
